Diane Phelan is a Broadway actress, singer, and concert artist whose career spans theater, symphonic performance, film, and television. Her Broadway credits include Cinderella in Into the Woods, The King and I, and School of Rock, with leading roles including Maria in West Side Story and Maria von Trapp in The Sound of Music. She is also a guest soloist with symphony orchestras across the country, including Omaha Symphony and Steamboat Symphony Orchestra.
A Filipino American and Third Culture Kid raised in Taipei and New Haven, Diane made history as the first Asian American woman to play Maria von Trapp professionally in the United States. She is also the founder of Unapologetically Asian and Racism Is A Virus, extending her work as an artist into advocacy for greater Asian American representation.
